CSF Significant Achievements
- Spring 2007 – research on needs of rural schools in China including extensive travel to various provinces, meetings with Education Bureau officials and school visits; investigation of current activities of major education-related foreign and domestic non-governmental organizations active in rural China.
 - Summer 2007 – agreement with Kunming Education Bureau to launch pilot project in Dabai Primary School in rural Yunnan Province. Project jointly funded by CSF founders and Education Bureau at a cost of ¥175,000 (US $25,500).
 - Fall 2007-Winter 2008 – recruited by Shaanxi Fuping Cement Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Italcementi Group, the world’s fifth largest producer of cement, to develop a CSR rural school improvement project in Fuping County. Company commits ¥1 million (US $146,250).
 - June 2008 – registration in Hong Kong as China Schools Foundation Ltd., a company limited by guarantee, and grant of §88 tax exemption by Inland Revenue Department.
 - June 2008 – Shaanxi government commits ¥350,000 (US $51,200) to infrastructure improvements in Fuping County schools project.
 - Summer 2008 – identification of domestic suppliers of school equipment, including furniture, library, science, music, art, recreation, A/V, and other resources for school improvement projects.
 - September 2008 – opening ceremonies at Dabai Primary School.
 - Fall 2008 – recruitment of Beijing Normal University Chinese Language Department to collaborate in development of model class program; recruitment of Northwest Agricultural and Forestry University to collaborate in development of greenhouse and water conservation project.
 - December 2008 – opening ceremonies at four primary schools in Fuping County.
 - January 2009 – launch of CSF website.
